Matrak reads the purchase orders, packing lists and delivery dockets your supply chain already sends, and puts auditable embodied carbon on every item.
Regulators such as ASIC accept three methods for Scope 3, from least to most accurate and auditable.
Least auditableSpend-basedThe easiest to produce, but it gives the highest baseline, and real headaches when it's time for an audit.Auditability: 1 of 3
In betweenInput/output basedA step up from spend, still built on averages rather than the products on your job.Auditability: 2 of 3

Matrak tracks the specific items heading to your job site, including their weights and dimensions, and creates a materials passport that follows each product from overseas manufacturers through to builders and developers. We combine product specification data with carbon assessments including EPDs, LCAs, PHD and GreenRate. Where supplier-specific figures aren't available, we use industry standard rating tools such as EC3 or NABERS.
Matrak AI calculates it from the documents already sent between you and your suppliers: purchase orders, packing lists, delivery dockets and progress claims. It works out what materials are coming from where and calculates the emissions. Your supply chain doesn't even need to know Matrak is being used.
Regulators such as ASIC allow methods ranging from the least auditable and most punitive (spend-based) to the most auditable with the lowest estimates (supplier and materials-based). Using supplier EPDs and certifications, Matrak gives lower estimates than industry benchmarks while making your records more auditable: which products were used, who shipped them and their embodied carbon, with a digital signature at every stage.
Suppliers can upload their own purchase orders and shipping dockets, which instantly calculates quantities, materials and embodied carbon, or invite their own suppliers to capture it, layer by layer until the one with the EPDs or LCAs. We also provide sample contract text you can use so suppliers provide the data you need.
Matrak keeps materials data permanently, so downstream asset owners know exactly what went into their building, through Matrak or the QR code stickers on the products themselves. Matrak's material passports have already enabled reuse of structural steel for over 100 projects globally through our network.
